Chantel Richman’s Radio news day story.
April 15, 2008
The NHS will cut the time Hampshire patients wait for diagnosis and treatment with the ‘End waiting, change lives’ scheme.
By December 2008, patients waiting for consultant-led treatment will be seen and treated within 18 weeks of referral.
Any hospital appointments, tests and scans will happen within this 18 week limit.
Thanks to the scheme, hospitals around Hampshire will offer a more efficient service, relieving patients from their symptoms early.

On this and chantel’s story. V good – but a bit biased. You seem to accept without question that this new boss is wonderful and marvelous. Better to get some balance in there. But that would involve finding a critic and then phoning them up = work = what people get paid for = reporters.
Chantel likewise this is positive bias in favour ofthe NHS trust. Relatively easy to get a pressure group to put the other side ofthe story, as discussed in the lecture/reading/seminar on pressure groups. Try and work your learning from the course into your practical work.
